Air frying enables you to prepare tasty and healthier versions of your favourite fried foods quickly and easily. Instead of immersing the food in oil, air frying employs hot air to cook the food.

SAFE TO USE

Air frying utilises a convection mechanism, circulating hot air around the food to create a crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender. Ideal for those seeking a healthier alternative to traditional frying, air frying can recreate the texture of deep-fried food with minimal oil use.

REDUCED HARMFUL COMPOUNDS

When certain foods are cooked at high temperatures using any cooking method, they can produce harmful compounds such as acrylamide, heterocyclic amines, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Consumption of these compounds can pose a health risk to humans. Therefore, it is worth noting that cooking any food at high temperatures using any cooking method can form these harmful compounds. While meat is a significant contributor, other foods cooked at high heat can also create these compounds. According to research, air-frying has been found to potentially decrease the level of acrylamide by as much as 90%. Studies have indicated that air frying can reduce the presence of potentially cancer-causing compounds like heterocyclic amines.

Nevertheless, as the duration and temperature of cooking increase, so does the likelihood of these compounds forming. The main idea is that air frying food quickly at high temperatures may be healthier than cooking for extended periods. However, be mindful of the convenience of air frying, as it could increase daily cooking frequencies.

ENERGY SAVING

Although air frying consumes less energy than traditional cooking methods, some individuals utilise them more frequently throughout the day, potentially resulting in greater energy consumption. Air frying offers an energy-efficient alternative to conventional ovens, particularly for meals that require a crispy finish. Air frying balances healthier cooking and energy conservation.

WEIGHT LOSS

Air frying utilises hot air for cooking food, and air frying is often marketed as a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying due to the lower requirement of cooking oil. As a result, the calorie and fat content of air-fried food may be reduced. Bear in mind that the health benefits of air frying may depend on the ingredients and cooking techniques employed. For example, cooking processed frozen foods containing high levels of salt, sugar, and artificial additives may not result in a healthy outcome, unlike using the air fryer mode for cooking fresh vegetables.

FOOD ROTATION

When using a microwave or conventional oven, we can usually rely on the timer to indicate when the food is ready. However, when air frying, it's crucial to periodically check and flip the food during cooking to ensure even hot air circulation. This will help achieve evenly cooked results.
